We use fabrics made from plant-based fibers which are biodegradable and compostable and can fully revert back to nature. Our designs use minimal trims and embellishments and we source locally as much as possible so as to reduce our carbon footprint. In doing so, we aim to support local artisans and businesses who share our same values, and encourage the growth of the eco-fashion industry.

Fabrics & Fibers

When selecting which eco-friendly fabrics to use for our collections we not only consider the type of fiber that makes the fabric but also how it is grown, sourced and produced. Such things as water usage, the amount of chemicals used during processing and whether any toxic/harmful waste is produced are all important factors.

Lenzing TENCEL™ Lyocell

Our collections to date have all been made using TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers. We love the fact that the fiber is extracted from sustainably grown wood using an environmentally responsible closed-loop system which efficiently recycles more than 99% of the process water and solvent. We choose to only use TENCEL™ sourced from Lenzing because it has sustainability certifications including a biobased certification from the USDA and a biodegradable/compostable certification from TÜV Austria Belgium NV.

Other reasons we love this fiber is because it is natural, breathable, absorbs and releases moisture efficiently and is super soft and gentle on the skin.

Trims

Our round metal KAFTAN tags are handcrafted by local artisans in Bali and are made of 100% white bronze sourced locally in Indonesia.

Our tassels are made from 100% cotton.

Packaging and brand labels

We do our best to minimise the use of unnecessary packaging and single-use plastic. Your clothing will arrive very simply in a cotton drawstring bag which can be reused in a number of ways. One of my favourites is for storing laundry when travelling :)

For mailing purposes, we use 100% recycled mailer bags sourced from noissue. By choosing recycled mailers it gives plastics already in circulation another purpose and with its second adhesive strip, the mailer can be reused another time before being recycled where soft plastics are accepted.

Our sewn-in clothing and wash labels are made from 100% cotton.

Our hang tags use cotton string and are digitally printed on natural brown paper.
